This certification isn’t just another line on your resume — it’s a passport to the future. Cloud technology is transforming every industry, and having a solid understanding of it is like having a superpower in today’s job market. In this article i am sharing with you some of the great resources and study material that you can uses for certification exam. So let’s start…

1. First Step: Go Through the Exam Guide

You will want to start with an overview of the Cloud Digital Leader exam so you know what to prepare for. The exam is 50 multiple-choice questions given in 90 minutes.

You can find the full exam objective list at Google’s updated exam guide to understand the main topics in the scope of the exam.

Skimming through the exam guide gives you a brief understanding of what the exam tests. The exam focuses on six topics:

Digital Transformation with Google Cloud (~17%)
Exploring Data Transformation with Google Cloud (~16%)
Innovating with Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence (~16%)
Modernizing Infrastructure and Applications with Google Cloud (~17%)
Trust and Security with Google Cloud (~17%)
Scaling with Google Cloud Operations (~17%)

2. Second Step: Use Below Materials

My first step was to gather resources that would aid in my preparation. The best study resource was Andrew Brown’s ExamPro course, which many would agree. He offers free content, including the entire course which is a series of videos. I felt that this was more helpful than the videos on Google’s Skills Boost training site.

Then, I gathered a few Google Cloud Cheatsheets, which were helpful resources for remembering various Google Cloud services.

If you are already familiar with other cloud providers, this Cheatsheet is a great resource for comparing the names of cloud services across different providers: Link

3. Third Step: Practice Exams

After getting a summary of GCP through the Udemy course and Cheatsheets, I started working on practice tests. Practice tests were crucial for me. They helped me understand the type of questions I could expect on the actual exam.

The Exam Experience

I found the exam to be pretty basic, with an emphasis on provider-agnostic cloud topics. You do need to know the Google Cloud services and products, but that was a smaller portion of the exam.

I saw a lot of questions emphasizing the following topics:

  1. Reasons why an organization should move to the cloud
  2. Fundamentals of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS
  3. The Shared Responsibility Model
  4. Security fundamental like — DDOS, Social Engineering, Physical Security in data centers, etc.
  5. Situational questions asking for the recommended GCP product for a business case

Conclusion

That’s it! This was my first GCP certification — a basic one. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn at the following link Ravi Sharma on LinkedIn.
